Stars of Tomrorow Youth Talent Show
What is the Stars Show ?
The 2nd Annual Humboldt Bay Kiwanis Stars of Tomorrow show May 10th, 2008 is a judged talent show displaying the best of Humboldt County's talented youth. The show is also a fund-raiser for the Kiwanis Club of Humboldt Bay. The proceeds from this fundraiser will support local youth projects such as Humboldt Youth Soccer, Little League, Hoopsters, Pediatric Trauma Prevention, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Humboldt Cheer, Triumphant Life Camp and Scholarships.
Who Should Enter ?
All talented youth should be encouraged to enter. Our purpose is to support the youth of Humboldt County. Our goal is to provide students the opportunity to challenge themselves and provide a positive experience, regardless of the outcome.
Why Enter ?
Not only will students gain valuble experience performing in front of a live audience, but they can win substantial cash prizes. One winning act is chosen from the competing age groups:
$200 Elementary (grades 1-5)
$400 Middle School (grades 6-8)
$600 High School (grades 9-12)
$1200 Scholarship, Best of Show Winner
How Do Auditions Work ?
Auditions are Wednesday, April 9th at 5pm for Elementary and some Middle School participants and Thursday, April 10th at 5pm for some Middle School and all High School participants at the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts. The auditions will be judges by qualified professionals and semi-professionals with experience in performing arts. Auditions are always quite competitive! Applicants should prepare a finished, show-ready performance. The top 24 acts make the show. They are rated on talent, technique and artistry, presentation and stage presence, selection or material and general impression.
Applicantion deadline is Monday, March 31st.
